Travel across Central Asia

  • Has anyone here tried the 22-day The Five Stans Silk Road Group Tour? I recently started reading about travel across Central Asia and the idea of visiting all five “Stans” on one trip sounds incredible. I’m curious if anyone has real experience with 5 stans tours and whether they’re worth it.

  • Doing all five in one go is 100% worth it, but taking a group route is definitely the smartest way to tackle it. We initially thought about self-planning the circuit, but aligning cross-border drivers, train schedules, and changing visa requirements across Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan gets overwhelming pretty fast. We ended up booking pre-arranged five stans tours instead. Having comprehensive tours across all Central Asian countries with full travel services for a comfortable journey saved us so much stress local transport was waiting right at every land border and hotel check-ins were totally seamless. If you want to focus on the Silk Road history rather than managing complex logistics, an organized tour is absolutely the way to go.
